Elizabeth Shio
Country Strategy Lead Tanzania
Elizabeth Shio is the Country Strategy Lead for 2givelife.org in Tanzania. She brings more than nine years of experience in education, development work and NGO program implementation, with a strong background in strategy, operations, stakeholder coordination, safeguarding and results-based management.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts with Education from the University of Dar es Salaam and is currently completing a Master of Education in Administration, Planning and Policy Studies at the Open University of Tanzania. Her professional experience includes leadership roles in country-level and regional program implementation, early childhood development activities, monitoring and learning systems, government and partner coordination, and team leadership. Before moving into NGO program management, she worked in the school sector as a teacher, assistant school manager and school board member.
In her role at 2givelife.org, Elizabeth supports the strategic growth of the Swiss School System program across Tanzania. Her focus is on strengthening local structures, building meaningful partnerships with government representatives, schools, NGOs and communities, and supporting the development of new hubs.
Elizabeth is passionate about creating meaningful impact through education, strategy and community development. She enjoys connecting with people, listening to their needs and turning ideas into practical action. With her strong understanding of the Tanzanian context, she helps ensure that the work of 2givelife.org is locally rooted, relevant and sustainable.
What motivates her most is seeing children, teachers and families gain confidence and new opportunities through education. Through dedication, collaboration and local leadership, Elizabeth contributes to 2givelife.org’s mission to make quality early childhood education accessible to more children in Tanzania.
